Get Ready For The New Year

Here are some tips and tricks from our clinicians and staff to help you start off the new year!

Family Life

As you prep for the holidays, your schedule gets hectic. Don’t forget to carve out some time to focus on calm with the family. The same goes for after New Years. Even a breakfast check-in for 15 or 20 minutes can grow connection!

Personal Life

Do something just for yourself every day. It can be making coffee in your favorite mug, or wearing your favorite shirt for a work meeting. Even 30 seconds you focus on yourself each day will add up. 30 seconds x 365 days in 2026, is 10,950 seconds of self care! (Or 3 whole hours carved out just for you!)

Relationships

From one of our couples counselors, the quote “Admit when you’re wrong. Shut up when you’re right.” — John Gottman. Sometimes it’s not about proving your point. Sometimes it’s about connecting with your partner and showing them that you are willing to listen to their side when they’re upset.

Children

It is never to early to start talking about emotional health with your kids. Things like boundaries (I consent to a hug, I would like a high five instead) are easy to understand, even if you are talking to a toddler. Building a foundation that teaches kids to listen to their needs can help them understand emotions and anxiety triggers as they grow.

Medical

From our Admin Team!

    • Send any members of your healthcare team your new insurance information.

    • Check that your contact information and address are correct

    • If needed, update your payment info for practices that keep it on file.

Scheduling can feel overwhelming. Look for online scheduling options, or make a plan with a friend to hold each other accountable and sit together to schedule appointments. It’s okay to ask for help!

As we wrap up December and get ready for the new year, we can look back at everything we’ve achieved. Take a deep breath, give yourself some credit for getting through the year, and center mental health for the future to come.
