Winter Wellness:  Take Control of Your Mental, Emotional and Spiritual Wellbeing

Presented by: Melissa Barrios, LCSW, ICDVP and Danielle Burks, LCPC   (2 hours)

Winter and the holiday season can be challenging emotionally, physically, and mentally. Join us for an interactive webinar to explore seasonal depression, grief and holidays, navigating relationships,  and to create your own Winter Wellness toolkit to help manage your wellbeing this season.

Seasonal affective disorder affects about 1% to 2% of the population, particularly women and young people, while a milder form of winter blues may affect as many 10-20% of people. Symptoms may include:

  • Change of sleep pattern (Fatigue)
  • Appetite changes changes (overeating, cravings)
  • Feelings of hopelessness
  • Feeling angry, irritable, stressed, anxious
  • Loss of interest in or pleasure in activities you used to enjoy

Melissa and Danielle help you explore the challenges facing us all this winter, and guide you through proactive, concrete steps you can take to build a toolkit for winter coping and self-care.  Winter and the holiday season can be challenging emotionally, physically and mentally, but we’ve got you covered.  We’re here to help.

These women are the real deal, and they will bring their whole selves to this webinar.  A few curse words might be tossed around, but we guarantee authentic, real, genuine understanding and support!

Urban Wellness is committed to providing equitable access to support for all community members. All Wellness Academy webinars are offered at a “Pay-what-you-can” (PWYC) rate. We appreciate your contribution to supporting community mental health and wellbeing at any level, whether you can pay $5 or $50. We believe mental health is vital, and wellbeing is for everyone.
