Who Am I?

Hi, I am Rebecca Crumpley!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with children, adolescents, and adults. I enjoy working with individuals living with depression, anxiety, and OCD. Additionally, I am passionate about working with individuals going through life transitions, trauma, relationship issues, the LGBTQ+ community, difficult family dynamics, and other life stressors. I also work with children and their parents through individual and family sessions on topics including, but not limited to: communication, family conflicts, and parenting strategies. I am a cis-gendered female and my pronouns are she/hers.

I love working with

  • Adolescents learning how to navigate school, family and social pressures
  • Young adults exploring their identities and their independence
  • Pregnant or postpartum mothers transitioning to parenthood
  • Families working towards common goals (even if they don’t know it yet!)

Some of my favorite approaches include:

I work from both a strengths perspective and through a trauma lens, while incorporating treatment modalities that are specific to each person’s needs. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy are all modalities I pull from to incorporate into my practice depending on what’s best for you.

HOW I HELP

I believe all people have a story to tell, and we all benefit when we have someone who listens to our stories and helps support us through this rocky narrative that is life. Through reflection and introspection into your unique story, we will work together to build skills, such as resiliency, self-esteem, self-advocacy, and work towards achieving your personal goals. Put simply, my main objective is to help you be the best version of yourself, and to give you the tools needed to continue in this direction when we are no longer working together.

Our culture is one of high stress, multitasking and perfectionism. Never before has self-care been more important, and therapy is one of the greatest acts of self-care. Together, we will also explore ways to slow down, enjoy the little things in life, and focus on living every moment to the best of our abilities

What it’s like in a session with me:

During our first few sessions, I will work to understand your narrative and why you are seeking out therapy. Initially, my main goal is to make sure my clients feel comfortable with me, so I really focus on building rapport. I strive to be my authentic self and often have a very down to earth approach. As we continue to get to know each other, we will develop treatment goals together. Everyone’s story is unique, and as such your treatment goals and sessions should reflect your individual needs. We will work together throughout our sessions, and I will always meet you where you are at while simultaneously helping to guide you in the direction of personal growth and healing. I also love doing ice breakers, playing games and getting creative.

More about me

I received my bachelor’s degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison (Go Badgers!) and my master’s degree in social work from Washington University in St. Louis. I have a 10 month old baby and am a first time mother, so I am continually exploring my new identity as a mom. I also organize various events for mothers and infants in the area where I live. In my free time, I enjoy reading, baking, watching new shows, going on hikes, and exploring coffee shops and restaurants. My partner and I started watching Survivor when Covid first began, and we haven’t been able to stop watching it since then! I am also Mom to my rambunctious rescue dog, Sage.
