GET TO KNOW your therapist
Megan Brady, LCPC
Hello, I’m Megan Brady.
A Licensed Counselor and Art Therapist. I use talking, creating, and play to help clients explore ways to work through life’s challenges, learn skills, and improve interpersonal connection. I am a Grief and Change Companion, Creative Problem Solver, and Teen Connector.
Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.
HOW I HELP
I use a relationship-based approach to identify your strengths in order to start where you are at. Together we will identify needs and challenges in order to determine the goals for therapy. Using a variety of creative interventions, we will build upon strengths and interests in order to create positive change. I work with children as young as 6, along with teens, parents, and adults. I take a collaborative approach to working with parents in order to better understand and encourage your child or teen. I am also trained in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Experiences (SPACE), a parent-based approach to treating childhood anxiety.
I have experience in providing counseling and art therapy across a variety of settings and needs, including school, early child mental health, trauma, behavior management, and child and adult medical challenges.
GRIEF, CHANGE, AND ADJUSTMENT
Change may be a normal part of life, but it certainly doesn’t make it easy! Whether you or your child are coping with grief and loss due to a variety of circumstances, it’s natural to need a little help along the way. I provide a safe space to express feelings creatively and gentle guidance to make sense of the experience and integrate the loss into your life. I provide encouragement and counsel to parents who are unsure how to support their children and may be coping with loss themselves.
CREATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING
When faced with challenges, such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, and trauma, sometimes young people fall into patterns of negative thinking and problematic behavior. Together we will create new ways of thinking and problem solving to better equip your child with strategies to cope with situations as they arise.
TEEN CONNECTOR
Being a teenager is stressful! Teens and young adults face their own unique challenges in navigating their increasing independence, relationships, and roles. Teens, there’s a lot to deal with these days and it’s ok if you need some help managing everything. Therapy is your time to work through challenges and I’m here in your corner to help figure things out.
MORE ABOUT ME
Outside the office, I’m an explorer, both in the city and all over the world! I love discovering new adventures with my family, friends, and dog. I’m all for trying new things, getting outside by the lake, making art, and drinking too much coffee along the way.
