Hi! I’m Jill Patano (she/her)
I’m a therapist that works with young adults and adults experiencing anxiety disorders, OCD, stress, time management struggles and self-esteem issues. You might look at me as your behavior and thought coach, helping to guide you as you explore thought patterns, behaviors and exploring core beliefs. I love when clients experience that “light bulb moment” in their anxiety journey and shed behaviors or compulsions that have held you back. ( I’ll probably do a little clap for you!) I’m a cisgender, White female. LGBTQ+ affirming, all cultures, identities and relationship configurations welcome.
Sessions with me might include providing information about how OCD and anxiety work, challenging or examining thoughts and behaviors, identifying core areas of anxiety and fears. I aim to create a non-judgemental atmosphere, I know how hard it can be to open up to a stranger about fears and OCD thoughts. Sessions can include a mix of being directive, conversational, encouraging and finding out about you and the rest of the important parts of your life. We may come up with homework or goals for the week or just look at more long term goals. And sometimes you might just need to vent or process and that’s ok too!
Schedule your first appointment. For follow up appointments (existing clients), please contact your therapist at 773-774-4444.
Land Acknowledgment: Urban Wellness acknowledges that the lands on which our practice resides with locations in Chicago and Forest Park, Illinois, are on occupied land, and was originally inhabited by Peoria, Bodwéwadmi (Potawatomi), Myaamia, Očhéthi Šakówiŋ, Hoocąk (Ho-Chunk), and Kiikaapoi (Kickapoo) peoples before their forced assimilation, labor, and removal from their ancestral lands. We recognize the Native peoples of these lands and invite all to consider supporting Indigenous communities and the fight for Indigenous racial justice.
