Who Am I?

Hello, I am Becs. I am a licensed social worker who works with teens and adults of all ages. I am a white, non-binary queer person who uses they/them pronouns.

I love working with:

LGBTQIA+ teens and adults who are trying to acclimate to the world around them and find a way to strive forward with their self-esteem intact and empowered. I also support people of all ages who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, or those who are caregivers for loved ones with difficult diagnoses.

Some of my favorite approaches include:

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. It is important to me to create the best, most helpful environment for each individual client which is why it can be important to combine different therapy models.

HOW I HELP

Life can be difficult and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. My goal is to create a comforting, safe space for clients to open up, reflect, process, and make a path forward that feels best for them. Seeking help and seeking therapy is a courageous act, I will gladly walk along with you on your journey.

Beliefs section

I believe our hardships and successes build resilience but sometimes we adapt to life in ways that aren’t helpful long term. I believe that therapy is a great space to pause and reflect on what works and what doesn’t so that clients can create a healing path forward.

What it’s like in a session with me

I want clients to feel comfortable, understood, and supported. It is important for me to get to know clients, what is important to them and the layers of their identity. In many sessions, we will identify struggles and set goals together. In other sessions, we can use the time for clients to simply release their feelings and thoughts to unload any mental or emotional burdens they may be carrying. Clients are the experts of their own lives and I value feedback that helps us to customize the therapy experience.

More about me

I love cooking, baking, and learning new recipes. I enjoy board games, sci-fi books, and creating art. I also enjoy taking classes at nearby community centers to learn new skills like Korean and pilates. My partner and I have a goldendoodle and a greyhound that we adore and like to take on adventures. I really enjoy finding ways to make others laugh.
