ABOUT ME:

I’m a relational therapist in Forest Park who uses a trauma-informed, whole-person lens to understand what you need. Together we build a plan, name your goals, and figure out what reaching them actually takes. I work with women, couples, and families, and I bring in yoga, art, somatics, and breathwork when they help.

Who Am I?

Greetings! My name is Kristine Greiber (she/hers) and I’m a relational therapist. I use a trauma-informed lens to holistically understand your needs. Together we’ll craft a journey plan to set your goals and define what reaching them will take. I bring my background in yoga, art in therapy, teaching, somatics, and breathwork. I respect my clients, meet them with cultural competence, and treat them as central to their own best outcomes. I’m a cishet, single woman, and a Gen X survivor.

I specialize in working with:
  • Women of all ages
  • Couples and dyads
  • Individuals and families facing health issues
  • Perinatal concerns
  • Anyone coping with a life-stage transition
  • Early childhood
How I help

I’m certified in Relational Life Therapy, which works for individuals, couples, dyads, and families. An RLT approach brings therapist and client close together to understand the dynamics and skills carried from early life. By exploring and holding space together, clients see how their current skills can be strengthened to enrich the relationships that matter most, and to grow new ones.

I also use parts work, narrative therapy, arts in therapy, and deep relaxation. Regulating our thoughts and nervous system is where change and learning start. I help by supporting your self-awareness and felt safety, and by offering steady positive regard and curiosity.

What a session with me is like

I like to begin, or end, with a short breathing exercise. We check in, look back at where we’ve come since last time, and follow the journey plan through the topics we’re working on. In couples and dyad work, we check on what’s shifted since the prior session and how new techniques landed. We move at a pace that lets real change take hold.

With individuals and families facing health issues, we talk through the practical side too: the institutional, financial, emotional, and physical realities of the situation. People often have to choose between competing demands, and I can help you hold both the big picture and the small one while you weigh your values and your decisions.

What I believe

Healing is an inside job. We each hold a “pharmacy within” that’s key to our progress. But it isn’t done alone. Our experiences have taught us individual lessons, and we can unfold and express them in safe space.

A little more about me

I row starboard on a women’s crew aptly named ROW, on the south branch of the Chicago River and Bubbly Creek. I’m an environmentalist and I cherish the pollinators in my prairie garden and everywhere. I sing with the World Music Choir at the University of Chicago, a community choir focused on songs in languages from around the world. I recently got certified in Poetry as a Tool for Wellness through the Institute for Poetic Medicine. I have two lovely adult children.
