Family Therapy: Creative Tools & Useful Interventions
Presented by: Nick French, LMFT
Completion of this course earns 1.5 CE hours.
Join us for a 1.5 hour immersion into the world of family therapy! First, we’ll cover the basics of systemic thinking to shift away from individual pathology and towards interpersonal dynamics. Next we’ll cover a variety of evidenced-based interventions and tools often used by family therapists. Some of the methods will be helpful for that one-time family meeting, while others will serve a family participating in therapy for 6+ sessions. You’ll learn to think like a family therapist and will gain confidence in your ability to lead and facilitate family and couple sessions.
Learning Objectives:
- Develop your understanding of systemic thinking
- Learn popular interventions from evidenced-based models (Solution Focused, Emotionally Focused, ACT, Experiential, and more!)
- Improve your understanding of the roles, expectations, and boundaries of a family therapist
