I’m a therapist in Portage Park who works with adolescents, teens, and adults. Whether you’re overwhelmed, struggling to process your feelings, questioning your identity, or just feeling stuck, therapy can be a place to slow down and make sense of what’s going on. We start where you are and move at a pace that feels right for you.

Who Am I?

Hi! I’m Annabelle (she/hers), a therapist who works with adolescents, teens, and adults. Together we’ll make space for both the deeper therapeutic work and the realities of everyday life, big, small, or in between. We start where you are and move at a pace that feels right, exploring your patterns, experiences, and emotions so we can better understand what you need and how to support your goals. I’m a cisgender white woman.

I specialize in working with:
  • Teens and adults with anxiety and depression
  • LGBTQ+ individuals seeking affirming, supportive care
  • Young adults navigating life transitions
  • Clients exploring identity, self-worth, and relationship patterns
  • People struggling with perfectionism or burnout
  • Adults just trying to make it through the week
How I help

I create a non-judgmental, affirming environment where you can show up as your authentic self. My work is grounded in multicultural, anti-oppressive, and socially conscious values, and I recognize that our intersecting identities and lived experiences shape our mental health. I’m committed to supporting clients of all backgrounds, religions, sexual orientations, and gender identities. My orientation is CBT-informed talk therapy, blended with person-centered and strengths-based approaches, psychodynamic concepts, and mindfulness, and I tailor therapy to each person rather than using one approach for everyone. I often help people with anxiety, depression,  and LGBTQ+ affirming care.

What a session with me is like

I want therapy to feel like a safe, welcoming space where you don’t have to have everything figured out before you walk in. Professional boundaries matter, but I also believe therapy should feel genuine and human. Depending on what you need, sessions might focus on current stressors, processing emotions, identifying patterns, or learning coping skills. Make yourself comfortable with cozy clothes or a favorite comfort item. We’ll set goals together at the start, and this journey is yours to steer, whether that means slowing down, taking breaks, or starting wherever feels easiest. For children and adolescents, I usually meet with parents or caregivers to understand their perspective and check in periodically so we’re all working toward shared goals.

What I believe

Our identities, relationships, culture, and lived experiences are essential parts of the therapeutic process. Growth often comes in cycles, unfolding over time through moments of discomfort and reflection, as we learn to meet ourselves with curiosity and compassion instead of criticism.

A little more about me

Outside of work, you’ll probably find me trying a new coffee shop, reading a new book, or hanging out with my cats and partner. I’m an avid concertgoer and usually have tickets to at least one show. I love being outside, especially with my cat, who recently decided he’s an adventure cat. I moved to Chicago from North Carolina, so I’m excited to explore the city.
