Coming June 23rd!
Hey! I’m River! I’ve been working with kids since in I was in high school and I absolutely love it. They’re sarcastic and so over adults but they tolerate my corny interests and weird sayings. They have the courage to call me out when I’m wrong and when I look silly and also, to live their truth. That’s an incredible thing. I’ve also been in the social justice game pretty much as soon as I realized racism existed… aka elementary school so be prepared because I’m gonna talk about white supremacy and all the ways it shows up in our lives, bodies and minds. One of favorite animals are bears and it’s fitting because I am a bear about self-validation and self-compassion because we can’t shame ourselves into self-improvement.
…12 to 22 year olds struggling with being a young person in an adult-centered world
… trans and gender nonconforming folks on their journey to aligning with themselves
… black and brown folks trying to navigate being a person in this white supremacist society
And all the depression, anxiety, trauma and neurodivergence that comes with such experiences
Figuring out your strengths and how you can use them to craft the next chapters of your life. To do that, I’m gonna use every approach that I think will work and then, encourage you to tell me what lands and what doesn’t. I’m definitely going to bring humor, play, art and a healthy dose of heat to our sessions.

Request an AppointmentThere’s a lot of oppressive forces swirling around young folks. So, when you come into my space, you get a lot of choice and the power to say no. I’m not your parent or your teacher. I’m your cheerleader and your guide. I believe therapy is an active, collaborative process. My goal is to highlight key points in your journey and surroundings; provide relevant information about your options; and help you make choices that honor your self-worth and personal goals.
It’s going be an mix-and-match situation:
As my name suggests, I love the water…swimming, splashing, being at the beach, kayaking, skipping stones, and more. Actually, I love all things nature :) I’m also a movie buff, an arts-and-crafter, and a life-long learner. Like a true Taurus, I’m deeply and luxuriously into rest and relaxation.

We recognize the Native peoples of these lands and invite all to consider supporting Indigenous communities and the fight for Indigenous racial justice.
