ABOUT ME:

I’m your therapist in Forest Park who works with both teens and adults that are navigating substance use, recovery, mental health challenges, and the messy parts of life that can make everything feel a little harder than it should. My approach is warm, honest, direct and judgement free. It is my belief that therapy isn’t about having all the answers- rather about creating a space where you can be real with where you are, who you are, understanding what’s gotten you here, and figuring out where you want to go next.

Quote Png.png

Recovery isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about finding your way back to who you were always capable of becoming – & now you know how much someone cares.

Who Am I?

HI! I’m Bridgette (Bridge-It, she/hers), a person-centered therapist who works with both teens and adults who believe that clients deserve to feel seen, heard, and understood without judgement. As a cis-gendered African American woman, I value cultural identity, and the unique experiences that shape a person’s overall mental health. My approach is strengths based, and above all, I strive to empower those who strive to want more out of life and create meaningful change with no BS included.

I specialize in working with:
  • Individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and substance use
  • Individuals just trying to get through the day
  • Individuals struggling with self-esteem, confidence, and self-worth
  • Those seeking healthier coping skills and emotional regulation
  • Those wanting to better understand themselves
  • Those who are processing trauma
How I help

Together, we identify patterns that may be holding you back and stopping the real you from shining through the rough patches. In this framework, we set meaningful goals, create practical strategies for lasting change, implement homework assignments, and strengthen relationship boundaries both in and out of our sessions. At the end of the day, my goal is to help you feel more grounded, empowered, and confident in yourself and the life you are curating.

What a session with me is like

A session with me is a space where you can be yourself and come as you are- no judgment, no pretending, and no pressure to have it all figured out. We’ll have real conversation about what is going on in your world, explore what may be keeping you stuck, and work together toward meaningful change. Please expect total honesty, compassion, practical tools, and know that accountability is a must! Let’s get you to that phase in life where you can actually breathe again….

What I believe

Our identities, culture, and background are all integral to the therapy space. You are more than the struggles and the past that ended you up here- and you deserve to be helped and heard. I believe in meeting people where they are while helping them recognize their strengths and being your personal cheerleader! Most importantly, I believe there is always room for growth and that you don’t have to figure it out all alone.

A little more about me

Outside of therapy, I am someone who loves spending time with family and chosen friends, trying different restaurants to recreate in my own kitchen, and finding “Pockets of Peace” to enjoy along the way. I am a proud cat mom as she keeps me entertained and grounded on a daily basis. I also enjoy attending Bible study, and reading/watching action packed/crime filled genres. Overall, I try to practice what I tell my clients to do- make space for rest, relationships, laughter, and the things that make you feel most like yourself.
