Who Am I?

Hi! I’m Amber (she/hers), a therapist who works with teens and adults. Together we’ll look at patterns, challenge belief systems, learn more about who you are, and create new narratives. I live for the tea, so give me the show-and-tell with receipts. I’m here to meet you where you are and celebrate your wins, the good, the not-so-good, and the little moments in between. I’m a cisgender, second-generation South Asian and Hispanic woman.

I specialize in working with:
  • Teens struggling with anxiety and depression
  • Young adults navigating life’s transitions
  • Adults just trying to get through the day
  • New moms adjusting and finding their identity
How I help

I seek to create a non-judgmental, affirming environment where you feel comfortable in your self-expression. I’m an advocate and ally to people who are LGBTQIA+, trans, or just trying to figure out life’s mysteries, and I emphasize a multicultural, anti-racist, anti-oppressive setting. If you don’t feel seen or heard in this world, this space is for you. I may not have every answer, but we can find solutions and creative methods together. My approaches include traditional talk therapy, CBT, psychodynamic practices, person-centered therapy, mindfulness, and shadow work, built gently and tailored to you. I often help people with anxiety and relationships.

What a session with me is like

I want you to feel comfortable, whether that’s taking your shoes off and sitting on the floor, upside down, or however you like. Bring your drinks in, your needs come first, and we’ll set the pace together. We’ll talk through your week and your thoughts and feelings, then slowly work into your goals and skills, all while building a trusting relationship with clear, professional boundaries.

What I believe

Our identities are a big part of what makes each of us unique. Where we come from, our pride, our feelings, and our emotions are valid, important, and deserve to be heard, no matter how they look or sound.

A little more about me

Outside of work I’m a huge nerd. I love reading books, comics, and graphic novels (currently reading R.F. Kuang), and when I’m not reading I’m playing cozy role-playing games on my Nintendo Switch. I live with two cats, Kittu and Oni, love exploring Chicago with friends and family, and I’m old-school enough to pick a hardcover over my Kindle every time.
