ABOUT ME:

I’m a Licensed Social Worker in Sauganash who works with adults of all ages. I’m queer and came out later in life, and I’m neurodivergent, a trauma survivor, a former first responder, a former D1 athlete, and a recovering perfectionist. You may have heard some therapists don’t want to see your texts or screenshots. Not me, bring the relatable content.

Who Am I?

My name is Angela, a Licensed Social Worker who works with adults of all ages. I’m queer and came out later in life, and I’m neurodivergent, a trauma survivor, a former first responder, a former D1 athlete, and a recovering perfectionist. I want to see the texts, screenshots, and videos, so bring the relatable content.

I specialize in working with:
  • Adults who are grieving
  • People whose past is impacting their present
  • People figuring out their identity and how to show up as themselves
  • People worried about the state of the world
  • First-time therapy attendees
  • Anyone struggling with everyday life and relationships
  • People who feel stuck
  • First responders
  • Athletes and former athletes
  • Other therapists looking for someone who gets them
  • Men coming to therapy because someone told them they should
How I help

You deserve to feel better, and you deserve to heal. I strive to create a space where you feel brave enough to explore difficult emotions and situations. You know more about yourself than I ever will, so I help you use your strengths through traditional talk therapy and skills for staying present and regulating emotions. I use humor, artistic expression, games, and play to help you tolerate and process what life throws at you. I often help people with trauma and grief and loss.

What a session with me is like

Therapy is something we do together, not something I do at you. We start by setting boundaries and talking about what you want out of therapy. You guide the process and point me toward the life you want to live, and I help keep us on course with psychoeducation, skills, and healing practices. I don’t have all the answers, and I’ll tell you when I don’t know something. There’s no dress code, so come comfortable, take your shoes off, grab a blanket, and sip your favorite beverage. We’re going to laugh, cry, and heal. I’ve got your back.

What I believe

Trauma is part of the human experience. Healing is possible. The healing journey is messy and scary, there are many paths through it, and there’s a way for you.

A little more about me

Outside of work I make collage art from vintage magazines, tend my houseplants, attempt outdoor gardening, and follow Brandi Carlile around the world with my partner. I’m originally from the Philadelphia area and have called Chicago home for 15 years, and I love seeking out new destinations and experiences through travel.
