Who Am I?
Hello! My name is Lauren Barry, and I’m a cisgender Caucasian woman. I work with teens and adults looking to better understand themselves and their lived experiences. I’m excited to be a support for you as we navigate the challenges of life transitions, adverse experiences, and process emotions in a safe and non-judgmental space. I firmly believe in acknowledging success, big or small, and I’ll celebrate the wins with you along the way.
I specialize in working with:
- Teens struggling with mood, life stressors
- Adults wanting support in their day-day lives or adjusting to life between school and work
- Any individual who has been through a traumatic or adverse experience
- Anyone wanting a deeper understanding of themselves and their inner thoughts and emotions
How I help
Life can be overwhelming, but you don’t have to go through it alone! Together, we’ll work to address your unique and individual challenges. I’m dedicated to offering a warm and comforting space where you can feel truly heard and understood. Therapy is built on trust, safety, and mutual respect and I will work to ensure you don’t have to feel alone in your healing journey. Together, we’ll explore your unique experiences, and work towards healing. No matter your background or identity, I’m committed to helping you grow and discover your path forward.
Taking that first step can feel scary, but I’m here to help you through it! If you’re ready, let us explore how we can work together to create positive change.
What a session with me is like
Therapy is about working through emotions and thoughts that are often uncomfortable. For that reason, I will always provide fidgets, blankets, and stuffed animals for any client seeking a bit of extra comfort while we work together. I welcome you to bring any comfort you need into the session (coloring books, tea, your own fidget). The best work will come from feeling safe in the space we will be working so diligently in. When we meet, you can expect me to use humor, funky metaphors, and lots of curiosity into your lived experiences.
A little more about me
When I’m not at work, I enjoy trying a new restaurants, walking on a nature trail, or watching a movie. As a self-proclaimed movie buff, I love new releases and rewatching my favorite 70s horror films for the millionth time. I have two cats (who also love when I watch a movie) and would describe myself as a wacky animal lady who tries to help any little creature I find. On a slow weekend I love a delicious cup of coffee and crafting!
