Who Am I?
Hello, I’m Jill Patano (she/her), and I’m a cisgender white woman. I enjoy working with people 18 and up who are navigating OCD, anxiety disorders, gender transition, sexual orientation, and identity formation, whether that’s cultural, religious, or just figuring yourself out. Through my own anti-oppression work, I bring that lens into therapy for all clients and keep an eye on the systems that affect marginalized groups in the therapeutic space and in society.
I specialize in working with:
- OCD and anxiety (generalized, panic, social, and socio-political anxiety)
- Gender and sexual orientation exploration, and the LGBTQ+ community
- Perfectionism, stress, and low self-esteem
- Religious, cultural, or general identity development
How I help
I help you identify the behaviors, patterns, and systems that might be holding you back. I believe in non-binary thinking and want to help you notice how certain patterns and thoughts keep you stuck in one place too long. Exploring your world and the people in it is part of developing your whole self. My approaches include CBT, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), motivational work, and exploring your core beliefs and values.
What a session with me is like
Sessions can be conversational, open, directive, and encouraging. I like to focus on the positives you’re experiencing in therapy while also understanding the struggles. We might set goals for the week, especially with OCD and ERP work, or keep things open-ended and move through the process together. I enjoy learning from my clients and connecting through laughter and stories.

A little more about me
I love reading, watching TV, music and concerts. Fall is my favorite time of year and I love anything cozy. I like to stay involved with social justice and advocacy work.
