I’m a therapist in Edison Park who works with kids, teens, adults, and families. I take a holistic, laid-back approach and hold a safe, judgment-free space where you can explore your feelings, your patterns, and your history while building new coping skills. If that sounds like what you’re looking for, we’d be a great fit.

Who Am I?

Hi! I’m Helen (she/hers), and I work with kids, teens, adults, and families. I take a holistic approach, helping people work through challenges and live their best lives. I believe you’re the expert on your own life, and I get to walk alongside you with support, coping strategies, and a safe judgment-free space to explore. If you want a laid-back space to look at your feelings, patterns, and past while building healthier ones, we’d be a great fit. I’m a cis-gendered, white, queer woman.

I specialize in working with:
  • Teens and adults dealing with stress and anxiety
  • Young adults working through life’s transitions
  • Kids dealing with anxiety and big feelings
  • People struggling with their feelings and emotional responses
  • Members of the LGBTQIA+ community
  • Anyone trying to balance everything life throws at them
How I help

Collaboration comes first for me. I use CBT, DBT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and talk therapy, and I don’t believe treatment is one-size-fits-all, so I tailor my approach to your situation, preferences, and goals. I work with you to express your whole, authentic self while working through what’s in front of you, highlighting your strengths and adjusting what’s no longer serving you. I also hold space for the ways systems of oppression and marginalization affect our mental health.

I often help people with anxiety and the stress of life transitions.

What a session with me is like

Therapy with me is laid back and direct. I want a safe space where you can be your true self without fear of judgment. In the first few sessions I like to get to know you as a person, beyond your current challenges, and we set goals together that feel important and reachable. Life gets chaotic, so I’m always willing to hold space for new issues, big or small, and I make sure to celebrate wins. This is your space, and I want you to feel like you can shape how sessions run. Therapy can get heavy, so I work hard to make sure you leave feeling grounded.

What I believe

Every person is the expert on their own life. We’re capable of more than we give ourselves credit for. I’m here to support your healing and growth.

A little more about me

Outside of work I enjoy time with my friends, family, and cat. I’m a bit of a nerdy homebody: video games, movies, knitting, and just hanging out. I’m a PNW woman at heart and love being in nature, even if that’s just a few minutes at my local park watching the birds and trees. I love all things cute, so you’ll spot trinkets, keychains, and stickers on my bag and in my office.
