Who Am I?

Hello! I am Hannah Byck (she/hers). I am a therapist who works with children, adolescents, and young adults struggling with a wide array of issues such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, PTSD, anger management and more. I enjoy working with clients who want to discover and harness their strengths, and be able to joke around when needed! I always love hearing a good joke. Here, you are free to speak your mind and give input in what you want to do in your sessions. My goal is to help you find the skills that you need to be able to help you help yourself. I am a CIS gendered, Jewish woman.

I love working with:

Individuals struggling with managing their anger and anxiety

Individuals with depression and self-harm thoughts/actions

Some of my favorite approaches include:

CBT, just plain talking, art therapy, play therapy, and I love anything that has to do with mindfulness. Everyone is different and we can structure your sessions to be around you and your personal needs.

HOW I HELP

As a therapist, I believe in harnessing your strengths to promote change, the power of mindfulness, and giving you a say in what we do in our sessions. I believe that therapy works best when both you and your therapist are invested in your growth. I want to make sure you feel comfortable in our sessions and can express yourself free of judgement. Everyone is different, and your individual therapy should be based on you and what you need. Whether it is learning how our thoughts are related to our actions and emotions, becoming comfortable with your emotions and expressing them, or developing coping skills we will tailor it to you and your needs.

I believe that you can do anything you set your mind to! I believe that therapy works best when we are both invested in your progress and you are willing to do the work outside of sessions.

What it’s like in a session with me

The most important thing is that you are comfortable! Take off your shoes, lay down, grab a blanket, whatever you need to feel comfy and safe. This is a safe, judgment free zone where you can say what you want but also go at the pace that you want. I won’t force anyone to talk about things they are not ready to yet, you just let me know when you are ready! We may talk about things off topic such as tv shows (I love binge watching almost everything!), or other random things but that is okay, I want you to get comfortable knowing me as well!

More about me

I love taking my dog to the dog park and playing fetch with him. You can find me cuddling with him at almost any given moment. I also love getting lost in tv shows or hanging out with friends and family. I love being outside when the weather is nice, and walking by the water. I have a plant obsession and may have one too many plants but then again is there such a thing as too many plants? I also enjoy cooking dinner every night, mainly any type of pasta!
