Hello! My name is Patti and I am a clinical social worker.  You can think of me as an agent of change, a transition guide and a family advocate.  I work with adults, couples, and families who would like to make positive changes to live a healthy, productive and well balanced life.

An agent of change is defined as a person who directly or indirectly causes change.  My goal is to provide an unbiased, safe place for you to examine your life, fix what’s broken and look to the future.  It’s my goal to help you to see where change could be helpful and together develop a plan to address obstacles that are in your way.


Transitions in life are inevitable.  Everything keeps changing, how do you keep it all together?  By focusing on what matters and letting go of what doesn’t.  I’ll work with you to be present in your life, in addition to evaluating where you’ve been and where you’d like to be.  Transitions during marriage can be especially challenging. Being married is a lot of work…… I know because I’ve been married for 30 years.  I’m familiar with the adversity facing couples while trying to work, raise kids, and also be a caregiver.  I’ll help you explore yourselves as a couple by helping you remember why you began this journey together, while building communication skills to assist you in moving forward.


As a lifelong Chicago resident, I am familiar with living life in an urban setting and know the challenges faced by its residents, especially fire and police families having been a Chicago Fire Department spouse for the past 30 years.  I encourage examination into how worklife influences homelife.  Being part of a family can be messy.  In addition to being the mother of three, my work in Chicago’s foster care system with birth parents, foster parents, and adoptive parents has exposed me to the struggles of families and the challenges of parenting under a variety of circumstances.  Let me help you learn new skills to navigate your family through troubled waters.


As a therapist it is my goal to support and guide you through whatever transition your life is in.  Therapy is a tool that everyone should wear on their belt.  It’s been said “If you keep doing what you’ve always did, you keep getting what you’ve always got”.  Therapy interrupts your norm and allows for a safe place to explore what’s working and what’s not.


When I’m not with clients, I like to spend time with my family and friends including my very large sheepadoodle.  I also enjoy winding down by binge watching Netflix, riding my bike and kayaking.
